Privacy Policy

This is a plain-language policy for our pilot. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and will be updated before launch.

Who this covers

LoyaltyWizard provides digital stamp and points cards for local shops. There are two groups of people: customers who hold a card, and businesses that run one. Each shop decides to offer a card. LoyaltyWizard stores the card on the shop's behalf.

What we collect from a customer

Your first name. We do not ask for a phone number or an email. Cards made earlier may still hold one, and deleting the card removes it.
Your stamps, points, rewards and the dates of your visits.
Whether you agreed to offers and reminders, and whether you agreed to messages when you are near the shop, with the time you agreed.

We do not ask for your location unless you agree to messages near the shop. Your phone decides when to show those messages, and the shop never sees where you are.

What we collect from a business

The shop name, the card design and settings, and the visit and message activity needed to show a dashboard. A business pays and signs in with details it gives us when it joins.

How we use it

To run the card: add stamps and points, show rewards and keep your card up to date.
To send a banner when a stamp or points are added.
To let the shop send offers and reminders, only if you said yes to them.
To keep the service safe and working.

We do not sell your details. We do not use them for advertising by other companies.

Who sees it

The shop that issued your card sees your name, your stamps or points and your visit dates. It does not see any contact details. Our service providers, such as hosting and Google Wallet or Apple Wallet if you add the card to a wallet, handle data only to run the service. Wallet providers have their own privacy policies.

Offers and reminders

The box for offers and reminders is empty until you tick it. If you do not tick it, the shop cannot send you group messages or win-back offers. You still get the banner when a stamp or points are added. You can opt out of offers and reminders at any time by deleting your card.

Your choices

Download your data. Use "Download my data" at the bottom of your card.
Delete your card. Use "Delete my card" at the bottom of your card. Your name, contact details, stamps and visit history are removed from our systems, and a wallet card, if you added one, is blanked and marked as expired. You can also remove it from your Wallet app. Backups are replaced within 72 hours.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your card, or until the shop closes its account. A shop that closes its account has its customers' cards removed.

Where it is stored

On servers in Canada or other countries used by our hosting provider. If your data is stored outside Canada, the laws of that country may apply to it.

Security

Stamps can only be added by the shop, and only when your card's code is shown at the till. The code on your card changes every 30 seconds. We limit who can reach the data and keep backups. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your card link private.

Children

LoyaltyWizard is not made for children under 13. If you think a child has made a card, delete it or contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters to you, we will update the date above and tell shops before the change takes effect.
